On a slightly related matter, I am running the Android N Beta and I love the new "Night mode" display. Finally, I can browse the internet in bed without pissing off my wife.
Haha that's funny but true. Yeah I'm also running android n beta and absolutely love it. The problem is , us that ambient display doesn't work consistently but if I turn it off, then I am just having to unlock my phone just to view the time basically. Not trying to over think this, but still it does matter to me. Thanks....
Like I've said already themed light turns all if the tune and the ambient mode is the most inconsistent feature in the world. My only problem is that if u turn off ambient mode and just use the LED light, I've rather just use the power button one to highlight the screen when for the time, or just unlock the phone. If rather only have to unlock the phone only when I want to use it though. Mmm this is what I was initially doing when I 1st bought the phone anyways.
Yes, I use it and been using it since back from Nexus 6 days. Ya ya ya, there are threads and threads of arguments that it's not reliable, but who cares, it's there and it works. Always better than Nothing.
Well what I'm now using is lite flow for custom colors which is consistently reliable, and yes, I turned off ambient display. I just highlight the screen with the power button when I want to see the time. Works out pretty well so far
I use it and like it except it's so dim on my phone. Is there anyway to increase the brightness? I usually have to click the power button so the it will give me enough light to actually read what's on there.
i have just been using the Lite FLow legacy app to do notifications on my phone. much more reliably consistent than the ambient display. if i want to check the time, i just press the power button to highlight the screen quickly. that's about it. the extreme doze feature works very well so far saving battery. the ambient display i really tried to use/like but it either works or doesn't work at all and just go too frustrating to use when i needed it to work essentially. overall, so far, i am very impressed with my nexus 6p running android n.
It's not that it doesn't work, I could tap my moto on a table and it would get triggered...while with the 6p I need to physically lift it as you stated. I love it, don't get me wrong...it's great.
