Neither at&t or t-mobile sells them directly at this point. Is the playstore the only source? And its reportedly charging a whopping $15 for shipping. This is really stupid marketing.

Whopping $15 for shipping.. but if att or tmobile were selling it I can guarantee you it would cost way more than getting it from the Play Store. Look at the Nexus 4.. $350 from the Play Store or $499 from tmobile without a contract. For the exact same phone. Now think again whether that 15 bucks is so ludicrous

Agreed but who would buy from tmobile for $150 more? Unless you were an uneducated consumer.also i'd like to see what i was getting to avoid the hassles of shipping back to the playstore or wherever if there was a problem with the tablet.

Lurk around the Nexus 4 forum and you'll see quite a few people doing just that (which, I agree, is downright stupid..). This is just how it works, and overall its a fantastic thing for us, the consumers, that Google is selling such awesome tech like the Nexus 7 and 4 pretty much at cost. They get to do that by doing it through they're store, so yes you have the minor inconvenience of not having a physical store to go to, but at the same time you have to weigh the pros versus the cons and realize how great this business model is for what it does to put high end technology in the consumers' hands for such low prices

yeah but they sell 3G ipad mini 32 Gb for $559. a whopping $259 extra than the Nexus 7. and you are worried about $15
