Unless you've been a BB user, you wouldn't get the whole BBM thing. I have it on my Note 3 and am waiting for BlackBerry to finish it so we have full functionality - the same as with a BB device. It's far from the same as texting - not even close. There's a reason they've had 40 million downloads of it on IOS and Android.
And do you use it?
As for me, I only have one friend on it. But according to BB there has been over 40 millions from IOS and Android that downloaded BBM.
I have it and have two contacts on it. it feels a little klunky compared to other instant messengers these days
I'm pretty non BlackBerry savy. Could you please elaborate on the full functionality aspect?Unless you've been a BB user, you wouldn't get the whole BBM thing. I tried it with my only contact..she is using a bb. I did not have any problem. Althought like fba said I had a bb device before and bbm.
never tried it with someone that has it on their android device

what do you mean? by that ..what I see is the BBM video is not there
Care to elaborate? How is it "much more than texting" if I just send a SMS message to a friend versus a BB message?

Have it on my Note 2. Use it everyday, with work and friends. When I don't won't to hear anything, just turn off notifications, but still receive, than turn notifications back on.
The actual BBM app allows video chatting within the app as well as phone calls on data worldwide through the app.
I'd prefer if all my friends used BBM but you can't force everyone I guess.
As for the original post, yes I do use BBM. I had 50 International friends on BBM before I left for an iPhone last year. I downloaded it and re entered my password into it and they all showed back up. I can't wait for full features.

I guess that makes sense if you need video chat or international calling...
Just don't see how the texting part is just so much better than SMS as FBA said.
