There is a slight chance I might be able to transfer an upgrade on my plan. That Galaxy S 4 looks so tempting.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma at the moment. I've pretty much had it with the lack of updates/length of time to update for the Rezound...I'm not yet eligable for an upgrade, so i'll be paying full price....my question then becomes, S4? Droid Maxx HD? (I was hoping the X-Phone would be worth my attention, but given what's recently passed through the FCC, it looks to be more of a midrange device)? Dare I make the switch to iOS (i'm not rooted or Rom'ing, so the only thing i'd really miss would be widgets and some customization type stuff...nothing major) I don't love touchwiz, but the sheer specs of the S4 make it worth looking into. Given Verizon's history with HTC phones, i'll stay the hell away from the DNA (or whatever it's replaced with - sad, as HTC makes a decent phone...it just lacks software support in a major way). I like that Moto has been fast with updates, seems to get love from Big Red, and is going with a more stock-ish approach to software - but the Droid HD Maxx has been around for 6 mos now, and is Dwarfed performance wise by the S4. I'm holding for the next few weeks to see if/what is announced, and will be making a move sooner rather than later.

I have the Rezound right now for my personal phone and the i5 for work, the I5 is Ok as a phone, it cant do what the Rezound does as far as organization of my information goes, and that's an important item for me, so it would not be a phone I would get. Unless you are a media nut, then its a great phone. I am looking at the S4 to replace the Rezound when the upgrade comes along. I looked at the ONE, but the S4's larger battery,SD card and camera are the items I like about it (the ONE's camera is really good as well). Depending on what version Verizon gets of the S4, the SD card will be important. It would be interesting to know if the S4 can support the 128G cards. I have heard people have had success with it on the Rezound.

So far, my Rezound has been working great. I'd rather wait until Advanced LTE phones come out. The fact that the Rezound doesn't have the latest and greatest release of the Android OS is not that big of a deal to me.

The Jelly Bean issue is not huge for me, but the horrible battery is huge.

My Rezound died and I bought a used Bionic knowing it would get Jelly Bean, and it did. It's worth it. Rich notifications and Google Now are slick. Anyway...I would have preferred to get the HTC One but since it isn't coming to Verizon I am seriously considering the S4.

Major, please let us know how you like it after you have used it for a few weeks (once you actually get it).

My upgrade isn't until August, so I'll be interested in your thoughts also Major. Anyone ever get their upgrade date moved up on Verizon?

My solution was to leave Verizon for T-Mobile. I paid $190 to escape my contract and left.

The only thing I really gave up was a slightly better network. But now my phone contract is separate from my plan contract...after my phone is paid off, my contract is automatically month to month. The Customer service has been far far better. I used to bash T-Mobile a lot, but they seem to have finally gotten their crap together. Oh yeah, and my bill is $70/month now for unlimited-everything with no throttling.

As for the phone...I went with the Nexus 4. T-Mobile will still subsidize your phone, so I am paying $17/month for it. I miss the Rezound's SD and extended battery. But the vanilla Android experience more than makes up for it...the display is even better than the rezounds (and the rezound already had a kick *** display, even by today's standards). It is an incredibly smooth and fast experience...far superior to even the Galaxy S3. Other Android phones feel laggy to me now.

If I was still on Verizon I would probably go with the S4.

Does anyone know if an HTC One variant will be coming to Verizon?

With no proof of this, I heard HTC and Verizon are finishing up license contracts, or something to that effect. Contract is just the general agreement between the two, not for the One. If they get the deal inked, then the One is coming, if they don't, California will fall into the ocean, Wyoming will have beach front property, and the general hygiene of the country will rise just a little.

LOL. Lot of pressure on that contract.

Hey Everyone,

I now have had my S4 for about 1 week. I ran stock for about 2 days and everything was good with it for the most part and didn't seem much lag. for the past 3-4 days I have been running CleanRom fro Scroler on XDA. He also created a Rezound rom a while back so i'm familer with his work. I've got to say this phone with all the bloatware off using Touchwiz screams for speed. I have not had a single hiccup nor have I had to wait for anything. I hit a button and bam it's ready. A Rezound to a S4 is a upgrade that makes sense. I have turned off some of the features that Samsung sells with the phone because I don't need them right now and it's a tad overwhelming to learn so much at one time.

I loved the rez, after all the bugs were worked out I loved the tb, and the dinc was just incredible (no pun intended) but I made the switch to the gs4. It is a great phone. Very happy with it. I miss sense but touchwiz is nice.
