Who uses or cares about the LED notification?

Lightflow can do this. You just set up each account in lightflow with the options you want.

Agree that it would be nice if Samsung allowed some LED personalization. Getting the SAME tone for ALL Now notifications doesn't tell me anything. Using Lightflow, being able to change sounds for the different notification possibilities is very helpful. I know when I hear that car horn and see a fast flashing blue light I need to get my butt out the door. But the light little nudge chime with a slow pulse light means I just have a reminder "to do".

+1 for Lightflow. I have used it in the past and loved it. I am less reliant on LEDs now, so I have not set it up, but I may because of this discussion.

It's already been said here but what the LED really does is let you know if you have something you need to address NOW or if you can do it on your time. I carry a purse so my phone is in there a lot...if I'm going somewhere that I can't really be interrupted by my phone I'll put my purse down somewhere (or the phone if it's with me) and I can easily see from the flashing LED what I may have waiting. The only thing to warn about with Samsung and Light Flow, however, is that in order for it to change the LED color it requires those notifications to light up the screen, and the only ways to do this are to allow it to happen and it will honor your default screen-on time before it turns off, or allow light flow to control the length of time but then light flow will lock your phone and it will require your pin (or passcode or swipe)...it won't take a fingerprint. The developer is aware and it's a limitation within Android/Samsung...not him. And by the way, as far as developers go...he's AWESOME. He responds very quickly and takes the time to explain why something may or may not be working as expected etc. He's very responsive. I was having a crash issue and within a day he was back to me with an updated apk to try, which did in fact fix the problem.

Yes, I agree, the developer is great. I was a paid user for a long time. Now though, my phone typically sits facing up right next to me, so the LED is less useful than the AOD. If it is not next to me, it is in my pocket, so neither are useful at that point. Back in the day, I had a color for everything, and knew my colors. Not sure I want the learning curve again, and the limitations you mention are a stickler for me because I have a corporate policy on my device that does not allow me to change a lot of those parameters.

All that said, the red for charging is helpful as a quick way for me to confirm that I am plugged in.

Ok, so I am now a bit confused.
As one who also relied on what color indicated what Alert on my S5, I understand that you guys are using some other Apps that allow use of colors for this. However, I am confused about WHICH Apps are proven to work best without making the phone do other things - such as light up the entire screen or drain the battery out.

Would anyone mind giving me the low down list on - lets say the Top 3 Apps to use for obtaining these multi color lights?
Or perhaps list these apps with their Pros & Cons associated with them?
Im sitting here with Note in hand trying to determine which one to download so I can get some light on the subject (Pun Intended!!) ;) THANK YOU ALL !

Obviously everyone is different so I think still having the LED light there is just another handy option, even though there are more options like AOD now. But that's a good thing right, the more options the better. This is why I no longer support iPhone and iOS. My Note7 (and my Note 4) with android have all the hardware and software options I need.

btw I use LED Blinker Notifications for my LED customisation needs. It doesn't NOT require you to be rooted and it is updated often...
