I just tried it out and it is definitely very small. I am going to keep it on for a while to see if it has any actual viewing benefits to me.

The one in display settings? I changed it to condensed using Nova from almost day one and have had it that way ever since.

Yeah in the display settings, it's so small but I kinda like it. Not sure what really is the point though

Yeah I already manipulated all that with third party launchers from the get go. Been doing that since my first Android device, the S4.

I'm running on condensed and much prefer it - non-condensed might be nice if you had sight issues though. My mother prefers larger icons and words with her eyesight issues.

The point is to make better use of the display size and resolution. There's absolutely no point in having a large screen with large scale icons.

I tried it but went back to stock. Having it on condensed for more then a day or two starts bothering me and I always change it back to standard.

I did the same with my Note 5. It came with the "condensed" mode out of the box and I hated it so after months of using it that way, I changed it to the same DPI as the standard mode on my S7 Edge. Much easier to read.

I used it from Nova launcher so now I can see more text and notifications plus those wifi/cellular/4g icons on top right aren't as big now which I like
