Who's Going To Pre-order The Note 8

Just curious.
Will it depend on specs? Free gifts? Price?

Or will you pre-order no matter what?

Once burned twice shy...I will wait to see what the deals/freebies are...the goal is to give it to myself for Xmas...it's hard, though, because as soon as it hits the atmosphere, my inner phone addict is gonna be jonesin'

Me!!! I have not been happy ever since I had to turn in my Note 7. The Note has always been my phone of choice and the S7e just isn't cutting it (decent phone but not a Note). If I hadn't traded my Note 4 in I would have gone back to that. Can't wait!

I got to keep my N4 in all the hullabaloo...

I probably will be pre ordering but I am sure others have gotten this email but I just got a invitation from Samsung to enter a unpacking event on August 23rd in New York so it wounds like to me that the Note 8 will not be out on the 23rd so now I am thinking it will be September before we can get the Note 8. anyone else get this email and what are your thoughts?

Yelp I posted earlier on the topic about the note 8 being announced August 23rd

that's what I normally do as well, wait a few months and see reviews and maybe hope for a price drop or good deal.
This time however it is a little harder, I am still on the Note 4 as I thought the 5 was more of a downgrade than actual upgrade and the 7 was withdrawn as quick as it was released here so never got my hands on one, only thing that might keep me holding out would be to see the difference in 7 FE and Note 8 and then decide if the Note 8 really warrants the extra money
I was too and then around launch of the 8+, Verizon did a nuts good deal through Best Buy. Trade in a premium phone for $20 off bill for 24 months. The Note 4 was on the list of trade ins. That knocked $480 off the 8+.

Which means probably means the end of the third week of September or the 4th week of september, close to a month after its announced most likely.

Yeah note 7 was announced on August 2 2016 and released August 19th. So 17 days after unveiling. You might be right but I'm more like guessing the 2nd or 3rd week if they do it like the note7.

That's why I stopped trading in phones starting with the Note 4. I give them what appears to be a new phone and they give me a measly credit. And it's amazing the number of uses an old phone has.

I will never make that mistake again (starting with the Note 8). After everything I went through with the Note 7 (trade in Note 4, two Note 7's, S73) I am going to be turning in my husbands S6 (due for an upgrade) for the Note 8 and he will get my S73. He doesn't care about having the latest/greatest and knows that I need to get back to the Note line. If something goes south with the N8 I will buy an older Note off of Swappa (wish I had done that vs the S7e).

Not to be provocative but what are these under the hood tweeks of which you speak. There is the S pen software which I personally think has stopped evolving. The camera might have some improvements. But I'm curious what's there is that's not included in the S8+. Not trying to start a fight but I've been disappointed since the Note 5.
Same chipset and firmware base. You would be correct that besides the camera, pen, taller display and smaller battery, same basic core. BTW, I think the leaks are accurate and the edge curves are even sharper than the 8+. Wasted legible surface space.

They won't wait 3 weeks to release the Note 8 from the announcement time, would make no sense to wait to release it after Apple makes its iPhone 8 announcement, as great as the Note line is and it's fan following, the iPhone is still the iPhone, and is still going to sell like crazy, so to get none Note users to switch to the Note 8, you'd have to have it on the shelves for people to buy before competition arrives

IPhone's have been revealed shortly after Labor Day (US holiday), maybe up to a week. It looks like the iPhone 8 is the sane timeframe.
So Samsung will have to release shortly after the announcement on August 23. Preorder possible the 25th.

Just whatever you do, don't preorder from Samsung.com. Many of us that did that with the Note 7 last year regretted it. People were walking into the carriers getting their phones before our phones were even shipped out and then the recalls with them were a nightmare.

Right on both counts. Delay of shipment of our pre-orders, and an absolute nightmare with the recalls.
