Im definitely saving my upgrade. Not only will the LTE phones be out by mid next year, quad core phones might be on the way as well. Definitely going to be holding on to my Epic for at least another 10 months! Will you?

Absolutely. My Epic still is sufficient for all I need - I can't think of anything it's missing that I can't live without for the next 10 months. Plus I get decent wimax coverage in my area outside of NYC.
Netflix - check
Mobile Hotspot - check
Great big screen - check

LTE will be worth the wait, I just hope/expect that when it does, we'll have it on a Nexus phone.

Might have to wait until the next lineup of Nexus phones 3rd/4th quarter of 2012 to see a LTE version :(

Next question is can Samsung come up with a radio that works with the LTE network better than their current radios for 3g/4g (WiMax)

On a personal note, I have no clue if I'm holding out or what... Have to see when this new "Sprint New For You Upgrade Program" comes into effect on the new year how upgrades play out... Technically I wasn't eligible for my 2 yr until October 2012. I wasn't a gold member so my eligibility runs out at the end of 2011 on the current pgm which makes me eligible for nothing at this point.

I can see myself possibly rocking the NS4G until LTE comes out and see what pops, really were only talking what another 7 or so months... We know how fast time seems to fly these days... Probably start seeing some leaks on LTE devices within the next 4 months or so....

I imagine the first devices will be hotspot / usb sticks and it'll be a few months after that before we see LTE phones.

The interesting thing would be if clear deploys LTE-Advanced in 2500 MHz and we saw multi-type phones that are CDMA-WiMax-LTE-Advanced. That might be worth waiting for.

Unfortunately for me, my line is not upgradedable until July 2012. Which is also a good thing since I'll be able to see what Sprint is actually doing to their network in comparison to what they got now, and what other networks have then. although it would be nice to be walking around with a Galaxy S II, my Epic still has what i need on a phone. Not nesecarily what i want. But it'll definitely be worth it. But, I fi had the money I'd definitely be buying a new phone right now.

I'm waiting on the Nexux Prime. Sprint said they are going to support WiMax for a while yet, plus their 3G is supposed to improve in both coverage and speed. I think the Nexus Prime will keep me happy for while and not miss the infancy of Sprint's LTE at all.

Waiting for an upgrade??? I am waiting for my contract to expire so I can bail on Sprint and go back to a good carrier.

I considered calling Sprint and trying to get my last Premiere upgrade date moved up to now, but with this announcement I will be keeping my Epic until next year. Only way I will likely change devices if I find a well priced used device.

I can upgrade on November 1 but I am in no hurry to get locked into another 2 year contract. Sprint's voice and data has really deteriorated in the last 6 months or so and I need to see some improvement before upgrading.

Thankfully, I like my Epic so I am happy for the time being.

Honestly I'm on the fence about this.

I might stay with my Epic and stay with Sprint for a while. Why? I hear since Verizons Epic 4G clone comes with stock 2.3 they might be able to do a successful port for the Epic 4G seeing how there literally almost same specs.

And the Verizon version might even get ICS which can probably also be ported, so honestly so much possiblity, our Epics aren't dead yet.

But Sprints 4G coverage disappoints me and their service. Where I live Verizons coverage is amazing and I've really been thinking of getting the Prime as soon as it releases there and leave Sprint. Unlimited data is much to me if I can't even use 4G and 3G is horrible. I've been patient enough.

Tough decisions..
