Why all of a sudden does my phone not hold a charge

I have an Adroid Ultra and it has been working great. Holding a charge for at least a full day. Then I did the big phone update and now my phone won't hold a charge for more than 2 hours, and that's with me not doing anything on the phone. So, I would like to know why all of a sudden my phone won't hold a charge. I have gone in and uninstalled apps, try to kill apps constantly (because they never stay killed). Any help would be very much appreciated.

Have you tried a Cache Partition wipe?

I have the same problem on my Droid Razor after the last upgrade. What is a cache partition and what does it have to do with the battery draining?
