Why am I not able to enter the contacts details into my phone?

When I enter phone numbers into contacts & save them to the sim card, regardless if they are a landline or not, they both say 'mobile' beside them, Can anyone tell me why this happens & whether I should just save them onto the phone

When you enter that information in the contact entry screen, you can tap the category heading to select others (like Home, Office, etc.)

I would strongly advise that you enter your contacts into your Google account, rather than the SIM or Phone Account. Contacts entered into your Google account will be automatically synced to the web, so if something happens to the phone or the SIM card, you won't lose all of your contacts.
