Why am I not able to make calls on my Samsung Galaxy S4?

Samsung galaxy S4 call problem

Hello. I know this question probably has a thread already but I still haven't been able to fix it

Calls on my phone don't work. I own a Samsung galaxy s4. I don't hear a dial tone and both parties can't hear each other. I've tried restarting the phone..removing both sim and sd card but still the problem persists. Don't want to reset my phone because other people who did it haven't been able to fix the problem..help!!

Welcome to Android Central! What carrier to you have? The first place to start is with them. For example, they might need to replace the SIM card with a new one.

I am from hong kong and my cell phone carrier is called csl. That's exactly what I did and it worked fine until just now I encountered the problem again. A restart plus a reinsert of my sim card did the trick. Don't know if it is temporary or not. :/ thank you for your reply

If it keeps happening, it might be more of a problem with the SIM card slot, which would require a qualified technician to evaluate and possibly replace.
