Why am I seeing jpegs of from each site I visit with the phone on my sd card?

Have your tried to clear your browser cache? This is most likely temporary storage to speed up browsing.

Edit:

Just in case someone else has this concern, it wasn't actually the cache after more research. The thumbs were actually bookmarks that I had forgotten about.
