Why am I unable to open files on my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge on the computer?

Can't open files on my Samsung Galaxy s6 edge on the computer.

I used to be able to plug my phone in to my Toshiba amd a4 laptop and transfer music. Now I plug it in and it says this folder is empty when I click on the device. Help me pleaseeeeeee!

Welcome to Android Central! When you plug in via USB, swipe down the notification panel, tap the USB icon, and make sure it's set to MTP (or File Transfer). The default in Marshmallow is Charge Only.
