Why am I unable to send/receive text messages?

i am unable to send/receive text messages....please help!!

verizon customer just switched to att. galaxy s 5 veizon phone. the att informed me that my phone was totally compatible but...... i am unable to send or receive text messages but phone calls are fine. could it be the proxy settings or some other frequency or...... please assist

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about simple SMS messages, or MMS? If it's the latter, you'd want to make sure the APN settings are completely correct.

I'm not too familiar with Verizon these days, but could it also be related to a setting for Verizon Messages+?
