Why am I unable to Sync Contacts?

Unable to Sync Contacts

My Facebook contacts are not showing up. I have a Samsung Galaxy 6. When go to Contacts to Display Facebook isn't even an option, I have it set to all anyway. When I go to Apps>Settings> Accounts> Facebook> Sync the option is dimmed and it will not let me select it. I have searched the Facebook web page online and from the app on my phone and cant find where to turn this on not that I can recall turning it off. I am stuck and have wasted far too much time looking for the answer! Thank you!
