Why apps get opened automatically after update ? How to avoid this ?

Hi, when the apps of my Nexus 9 are getting updated they get automatically opened one by one right after the update.
This is a bit annoying, is there a way to disable this ?

After the update the open up on your screen? Or they just come up as running under running apps?
