Why are all the SMS texting apps losing emoji?

First Handcent dropped emoji, now Textra, SwiftKey and Chomp. I have a paid version of Chomp and the emoji are gone along with the plug in app, it's not even on the play store anymore. I assume Apple must have had something to do with this. Another reason I will not use any Apple products, they are a pompous company. Like emoji is really going to make people dump Android and run out and buy an iPhone.

Yes I looked, it seems every Developer is switching to the "blob" looking emoji and removing the original looking emoji.

I received an email back from the developers of Chomp and Textra, it seems Google has asked to remove these particular emoji. They are working on a replacement. I assume "these particular emoji" would be anything ios looking. The SwiftKey emoji have also been changed to look different.
