Why are internet website showing up in my history when I was never on the web site?

My wife went through my history and found some web sites i had never been to. But they were there.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you ever log into your Google account on browsers at work or elsewhere, and then forget to log out? If so, then anyone else who uses that browser after you is adding the sites they browse to your browsing history.

Or go to a site that had a little picture of something - that came from one of those sites you'd "never been to". Some links will show up too.
