Why are my folder modified with me doing anything

My android phone folder such as 'sounds', 'music' & 'downloads' shown modified jan 2021 but I have not create, amend or delete anything in these folders for over 6 mths.

I want to know why these folders are modified to present date when i haven't touch them for over half a year.

Phone : Honor10i with android 10

A user app or background service changed something resulting in the modified date getting updated. There is no way to know what changed or who did it without some type of file system journaling, which I am pretty sure Android does not have.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you installed any apps since the beginning of the year? One of those apps might have included some specific notification tones in the Sounds or Music directory. And since downloading files (even temporarily) is pretty common in the course of using apps (especially your browser), you most likely downloaded something and don't remember it (unless you just haven't turned on this phone for 6 months).
