Why are my notifications on Samsung Galaxy S9 being consolidated?

My text notifications (default messaging app and Kakatalk) become consolidated when I receive multiple text messages. This results in me only being able to read the last sent message in the notification tray rather than being able to scroll through them like in iOS. What can I do to change the settings?

Welcome to Android Central! When you swipe down the notification panel and see those consolidated notifications, swipe down slightly on those consolidated notifications -- it should expand so that you can see the individual notifications.

Thank you for your response. This works to view messages from multiple senders but what can I do if I want to view all the messages from 1 sender?

Hmm, good question. Not sure if that's possible -- I'll have to look on my Pixel 2 XL the next time that situation arises.
