Why are my phone and tablet not syncing?

I have a motorola droid phone and a samsung galaxy tab A tablet that I want to sync. Both signed into my Google account but the contacts and calendar don't sync. Is there a setting or something that I should look for to make this happen?

Which device has the data you're looking to have synced? Samsung includes its own calendar app and allows for saving of contacts to the device. If you're using both of those features, that data will not sync to the phone as it's not connected to your Google account.

If you log in to contacts.google.com from a browser on your computer, do you see the contacts you want/need synced? Same for calendar.google.com
