Why are my photos disappearing from the gallery?

hi there I have a s5 my problem started Friday afternoon every time I take a photo it goes to gallery as it should do then it will disappear nowhere to be found also if people send me photos or video's to, from Facebook or whatsapp then go to the file then all of a sudden they disappear too I am having to save everything on drop box before it deletes its self's. I really need help as I don't really know what I can do and don't really have a clue about phones thanks hannah

I don't have miro sdcard so internal storage

No. The system cache partition only holds temporary data.

hi I did what you said just taken photo with camera it went to gallery now its gone again

Good idea. Check your Settings>Storage menu and see how much remaining free space you have.

Just an idea...

Using the built in file explorer, My Files...

Select Device storage > DCIM > Camera... and see if your photos are actually being stored.

If so, do you use a cache cleaning app such as CCleaner or Clean Master, etc; that may be deleting the thumbnail cache for Gallery on a regular basis.

hi I have 3.15gb available space . also I have looked at the DCIM no photos are there

hi on the Friday this all started happening I downloaded 3 new app. flipagram,pof,kik. is there anyway someone could of hacked my phone and is taking my photos away. downloaded google camera app and the photo are still going missing

Before considering that someone hacked your phone, I'd be much more suspicious that one of those apps is just causing a glitch and making the photos disappear. Uninstall all of those apps and see if the problem persists.

Hey there I had this same problem for a while and I found that I had a hack on my phone from a couple of people I gave my number to. They hacked my phone I don't know how but they did. Though my number. I fixed it by changing my number and not giving it to the same people. Just be careful who you give your number to especially on pof or kik it could be 1 of them hope this may solve your problem bob

Hey I'd did remove all three apps and it's still doing it. You reckon I should change my number
