AC Question

I have a Moto G 2nd Generation and for some random reason all of my notifications were getting hidden. I tried to find an answer but in the settings my phone doesnt have the "show all content" setting?? I don't know what is happening and I need an answer fast... THANKS!

Hi. Aside from the main "settings"menu did you try the messaging settings menu? If you go like you are going to send a text (but don't actually start composing a text msg) and hit menu there a list of messaging settings should come up.

If that's not what you need try going to the main "settings" menu. Scroll down to "accessibility" and there are notification settings there. Silly place to hide them :).

Hope something in there helps you...

Welcome to Android Central! Are you talking about lockscreen notifications only, or even when you're on your homescreen?

Hello Ayush, thanks for registering and welcome as a new member! Have you already updated to Marshmallow or still running Lollipop? What options do you get in settings - sound & notifications - when screen is locked? What apps are checked under settings - security - device administrators?

Javier, when I click on "when screen is locked" the only two options are "Hide sensitive content" and "Don't show notifications at all". The "Show all content" option is not there. I am not sure whether I am on lollipop or marshmallow but I have Android version 6.0 ad I there are no software updates at this time. The apps under Device Administrators are "Google Apps Device Policy", "Motorola Device Policy", and "Android Device Manager".
Thanks for your time and I hope this helps

Did you install the Google device policy app or was it already preinstalled? Is this a personal phone or company/government owned? It's possible that there are some privacy settings enabled through this app. Another question, are you using Moto Display? Not sure if this feature is available in the Moto G 2nd generation.

I installed the Google Device Policy App because I needed to edit a document from school on my phone. The school account is managed by the county and made me install the app. It is a personal phone. I don't know what the app is, all i know is that it was mandatory for me to install from the Google Docs App. I do not know what Moto Display is, so I doubt that i am using it
Thanks

I think the restriction to show all contents on the lock screen could come from this app. I'd recommend you to talk with the IT guys in your school and see what they say. Maybe it's just a question of changing a simple setting on this app and you can get your notifications back. Tell us how it goes.

Yes!! It worked!! I uninstalled the device policy app and the google docs app, and the "show all content" setting showed up in the sound and notification section in settings!! As you may tell by the all caps, i am very excited that i can have my notifications back. Thank you so much javier!!
