Is there something I'm missing? ... I really don't see any difference in photo quality compared to single lens cameras
Why are people so intrigued with dual cameras?

I won't purchase a phone that doesn't have dual cameras. I love them! I love having photo-taking options.

This is why. These were taken from the same spot. Quality is the same but as you can see the second image fits a lot more without me moving.

I never understood this either until I got my Honor 8, and I've noticed that picture quality is infinitely better - at least, for a user like me, who snaps photos of their cat and random other things during the day; but not a huge camera enthusiast all the same. I've noticed a difference, even in low light settings where photos taken with other devices wouldn't have been as crisp.

The dual cameras are nice in certain situations but I'd rather have a single camera that's good in all situations. The G6 and V20 don't tick that box. Both are less than ideal in full auto and struggle with motion in the frame.

Oh man that's nice. My wife has the 2016. How you liking sync 2.2? I've installed it on my 2016 Mustang and so far the G6 is the only phone that works right with Android auto. Haven't put it on my wife's truck yet.Brand new 2017 Ford f150.

I've just used Bluetooth so far with it. I haven't downloaded Android auto yet to it to play with it yet.

How is it just marketing? I like it from actually using it -- not because it was advertised it had it. In real life use so far it has been amazing for capturing more when I need to.

Android auto is great but it locks you out of doing almost anything else with your phone. I guess that's a good thing.

Yeah. I only use voice and music when driving. It reads me the texts and lets me respond.

I don't like the optical distortions (fish eye or whatever its called) of wide angle lenses, so its a pass for me. I mean if its there, great, but its not a deal breaker one way or another.

Barrel distortion is normal on wide angle shots even with professional equipment. There are shots that you just will miss without it. Some use software to correct it. I don't have the patience. Often the distortion is just around the edges and if you frame it right you crop what you don't need.
