Why are photos distorted on Facebook?

[Android Central Question]

A couple of days ago I uploaded a series of photos in comments on a group page. They all appeared with streaks on either side - that effect where it looks like the edges have been stretched out. I notice that this is now happening when I view others' photos in groups and in comments on my feed. However, on my timeline I can post photos normally. It's really irritating and I can't uninstall/reinstall because it's a stub app on my phone. No os updates due, either. What can I do?

Can try clear data and force stop Facebook app see if it returns to normal.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you also see that on the Facebook mobile site on your browser? If not, then it's likely a glitch in the app itself. If clearing the app cache and data don't help, then send feedback to the Facebook developers about it.
