Android Central Question

Hello.

I have one app where push notifications are not working at all. Everything is up to date and enabled on both the device and the phone and they still are not working. I have contacted the app developer and they have been no help. Phone is always connected to the internet via WiFi or cellular data network. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleared cache and data. Rebooted the phone several times and nothing has worked. I have also disabled data restrictions and battery optimization for this app. All other push notifications for my other apps are working except this one.

Also, occasionally the notification icons at the top of the screen will not show up. After restarting the phone it corrects itself but eventually it will happen again.

Thanks!

It would be helpful to know which app you are talking about.

For the notifications to be shown, the remote server needs to send them and the background service on your phone needs to receive and process them.
Sounds like the server is sending them.
Sounds like the background service is dropping the ball somewhere. Unfortunately, only the app developer can fix that.

Thanks for your reply.

I apologize. I forgot to add that info.

It's a game. POTC ToW.

The app developer says it's not on their end (which I refuse to believe). They have been no help at all.

I have tried everything. The notifications work on my iPad but not my Pixel 2 XL. Both the app and the phone are up to date in every aspect but nothing seems to have worked. Thanks again.
