Why are some of my Excel documents the subject of a "failed download?"

AC Question

So I've had my s5 for two months, and I'll admit, it's been good to me for the most part.

However, the past few days, I've been dealing with an issue accessing my Excel documents. I create spreadsheets at home, and work on them there. Before I leave home, I email these documents to myself, and work on them through my phone on occasion.

Until recently, everything's been fine. However, sometimes, I try and access those documents, through "My Files," but I get a message saying that the "download failed."

What the hell? How is that possible? I was working on that document just a few hours earlier, and now, I can't even access it?

Luckily, I have the templates saved at home, so I don't have to work on the documents from the start. However, this issue has happened a few times of late, and it's really bothering me. I don't want to have to take a screenshot of my work every time I'm about to exit the document.

Does anyone know what the problem is, or how I can solve it?

Also, my phone is not rooted, in case anyone feels that the issue may have had something to do with rooting the device.
