Why are things I searched on my previous phone showing up on my new one?

why are things i searched on my previous phone showing up on my new one?

I used to own a HTC one, about 3 years ago,
went to iphone, and just recently came back to android, (now have an LG G3)

my boyfriend went onto my maps to search for something,
and lost it because an address (that I haven't looked up since I had my previous android) showed up in 'recent searches'

can anyone explain WHY every past search I've made, even on another phone, are showing up on this new one?!

You used the same Google account on both phones. Your searches were saved to the account, not the phone, so they showed up again.

You can login to Google Dashboard and control everything Google, including opting out of saved searches. Google makes it fairly easy to control what they can do.
