Why aren't numbers showing when I try to put in my password?

Numbers are not showing

I have a Galaxy S5 and when I want to put my passcode in the numbers do not show up they are just shown as blocks, also the pull down text where you look at your recent emails, voice mails shows as blocks not text, phone is fine on all the other pages, text shows perfect. Please help

Welcome to Android Central.

I was going to suggest Settings, Security, Password Typing Visible, but since your texts are also affected, I doubt that it is that.
Have you tried a Cache Partition wipe?

Where will I find the Cache??? Sorry for being blonde but new to Samsung

I had the same issue and the cache partition wipe seems to have fixed it. Here are the steps I used:

1. Power off your smartphone
2. Press and hold “Volume up”, “Home” and “Power” at the same time
3. After the phone vibrates, release the “Power” button but continue to hold “Volume Up” and “home”
4. Once the “Android System Recovery” screen appears, release all the hardware buttons
5. Using the “Volume Down” button, navigate to and highlight “wipe cache partition”
6. Press “Power” to select the option
7. Once the cache partition has been wiped, “Reboot System Now” should be highlighted
8. Press the “Power” key to reboot your device
