Why augmented reality on the iPhone will leave Android in the dust

Yeah, I think the article does have a point regarding Apple. But wide adoption doesn't necessarily mean better. Siri has been baked in for what.. 5 or 6 years? That thing is woefully behind other assistants at this point.
Very true. Will be interesting to see if AR takes off and if Google bakes it into android in the future without special hardware

The article makes some good points. Will be interesting to see if Google changes things once IOS 11 is out for all.

LOL! A BGR article.

Those guys praise Apple no matter what and defend them over even over the most obsured things.

Even with Apple having control over hardware, to me these Apple these days are not as creative as they once were, look at Siri and how it pales incomparison to Google Now, and Cortana.

Look at how poor and useless Apple Maps was.

We'll see just how good they can try make their AR, but I have my doubts.

I agree about Siri, maps is pretty comparable these days. i think with AR and it being more software and working with hardware already out there, the devs are going to take it and run with it. I think what hurt Siri for so long was apple kind of kept it protected and didn't allow devs much access to it.

Interesting take ... I personally think the same thing will happen with their AR efforts that happened with Siri. The walled garden can be a great place until you need to deal with the world outside of it. I just think their effort will be a disappointment ...

Competition is a great thing for the consumer so I wish Apple good luck with it all. Though, to be honest, they seem a bit disheveled since Jobs passing. Lotta missteps

I agree. Will be interesting to see what they end up unveiling for the 10th anniversary iPhone.

Individuals like Jobs are rare, to expect Apple to be anything like they were with him is not realistic. So far they've been riding his coattails, innovating little, revolutionizing nothing, but still producing excellent quality products. I'll expect nothing more from them.
