Why Bing?

I'm leaving V. I'm going Nexus from here on out. It's as much as I don't want to wait for features (video google chat) as it is things like Bing. I'm just wondering if I want to get a Nexus S now while I wait for the next Nexus. Sense is nice, but it's just too big. All of that extra code is murder on the battery.

I agree that V doesn't really care. Plenty of people are buying it anyway.

You should stick with Verizon. It has by far the best coverage. But if you really do leave I would wait for the next nexus device. Although the Nexus S is a good phone, people say other nexus devices are better.

I keep circling the current crop of Android phones on Verizon and all I can say is I am unimpressed.

4G - launched with 2.2.x, getting 2.3.x quickly in some cases
ThunderBolt - poor battery life, BT won't connect to my car
Charge - poor internal memory, great display, but too pricey for what you get, 512MB RAM boo
Revolution - Bing is not my first choice, it could hamper OS updates, 512MB RAM boo, ???
Bionic - MIA, no release date, no idea on what it will be and will it be any good?

3G - still launching with 2.2.2 - Lack of 2.3.3/2.3.4 is unacceptable
Droid X2 - I don't mind the same form factor, 512MB RAM boo, qHD display, dual core, ???
Droid 3 - No word on a release date, qHD Display, RAM TBD, Storage TBD, 5 Row keyboard, 4" Size

It just seems like Verizon put all their eggs on 4G LTE and the current crop doesn't make me personally go Holy Crow, I gotta have that one. Just disappointed, if I could put the Charge display on the ThunderBolt and get the battery life as well then add the LG Revolution all black finish we would have something.

I know that in the past, some Bing phones were stuck with using Bing's turn by navigation as well. They would allow you to install Google Maps from the market with being rooted and running a custom Rom. I hate Bing compared to Google maps. I hate Bing compared to Google search. I hate Bing period.

As far as I know the Rev actually has 768 mb of RAM just like the Bolt. (every phone that uses that processor has 768)

If bing is a problem and it is the only thing holding you back from this phone then here is what you got to ask yourself.

Do I mind rooting my phone? If the answer is no then you are stuck with bing on your phone. If the answer is yes, then remove bing. Problem solved. It has already been done on this phone.
