I am going to go and preorder the GS3 at either Verizon or BB today. It will be a new account. I am tired of Sprints slow speeds, no 4G here.
I called Verizon and they said there insurance is either 6.99 or 9.99 per month with a 99 dollar deductible.
It is my understanding that BB gas a 9.99 a month fee but no deductible. I have bought many things from BB but never went through them for a phone. It is also my understanding that BB can not do my corporate discount but I can do that after the fact.
It would be appreciated if anyone can give me there thoughts and suggestions.
Thanks,
Deano

Yes, you could do it afterward. I'm an existing Verizon customer and I just applied my employee discount. Simply follow this link:

Best Buy has a 15 day return policy and a 30 day exchange policy vs. Verizon's 14 day return policy.

insurance, referred to as asurion wireless phone protection, is probably $5.18. It can be $8.18 for "other" devices(iphone) , but most current android phones are $5.18. Deductible varies, but for Android it is typically $99. For other devices, it can be as high as $199

Extended warranty is $2/month and has no deductible

You can combine the two for total equipment coverage, $6.99 for advanced devices typically android, or $9.99 for "other" devices, typically iphone.

I shop at Bestbuy for the points (best buy cash) and their insurance (black tie protection). some people have horror stories, but they are great at my store here in North Atlanta GA. I had my Evo replaced 2 times and received a refurb in 2-3 days both times. they also provide a loaner phone during that time if you so desire. Yes and no deductible and it covers all damage to phone. Only drawback on paper is they do not replace stolen or lost phones.

Costco wireless has the best policy, 90 days. It has a 14 day trial period though, per Verizon's policy, meaning, you can return to costco after 14 days but if you cancel service after 14 days, you will incur etf. Of course, you are allowed to do exchanges within the 90 days.

Went to Best Buy 2 days ago.

-Protection Plan is $15 per month. Covers spills, lost, damage and anything under the sun. Zero deductible. Unlimited reports.

-Exchange and return policy is longer than Verizons. Not sure if there is a restocking fee.

-BEST BUY BUY BACK LOCK IN. Costs $30 if you sign up for protection plan. BB will buy your phone back for certain amount based on monthly tiers.

within 6 months....$300(50%)
within 12 months.....$250(40%)
Within 18 month.....$200(30%)
and so on.

Dont quote me on the time frame. But there is a lengthy chart.

Best Buy’s Buy Back Program

Benefit would be...If a new phone comes out. Lets say the Iphone5 in December. I can swap my SGS3 in for a $300 credit based on the best buy buy-back chart. Reducing the cost of the iphone5 from full retail.

$700(iphone5 full retail) minus $300(swap within 6 months) Makes the iphone $400 plus tax. No longer full retail. Essentially a built in upgrade credit. SOmething we no longer have with verizon if you wish to keep the unlimited ball rolling.

Technically, $30 charge(or $60 if you do not get protection plan) + 30 verizon Upgrade fee + $330 sgs3(with subsidy) out the door. Brings your out the door charges up to $390.

If you upgrade your phone within the buy back plan. You are essentially renting your phone until you upgrade. With a considerable credit coming your way. Making your next phone cheaper ranging from $100-$300 depending on when you upgrade your phone.

Cool Idea. Or you can sell your phone yourself on CL or Ebay. Not get charged $30 or $60 bucks. And possibly make more money. If you can handle the operation of selling ur phone.

HOpe this wasnt confusing. read the link.

So you are essentially giving Best Buy $30 to get back at most $270 - the $300 promised within the first 6 months minus the $30 fee you paid for this program.
