Android Central Question

Hello, I am not seeing videos I download anywhere on my phone. The videos I download from instagram or FB don’t just show up anywhere. I used to see them in my galley before but I don’t know what happened.

I tried to follow your previous solution provided, but I don’t know where to check or change the storage from sd card if that’s the situation.
Thank you.

Do you see an app called Files? Look in your app drawer. Can you download an app called DarkRoom or another third party app that stores your files, pdfs, pictures and videos? It can take the place of the missing folder or app.

Welcome to Android Central! Those apps are probably downloading the videos to their own download directory, and not the main download directory. Use any file manager app to explore, and look for the directories that are associated with those apps. If you find where the files are downloading, see if there's a file called .nomedia -- that file instructs the system to ignore the directory when scanning for media to show in the Gallery. You can try deleting the .nomedia file, but the app might create it again.

Alternatively, look in the FB or Instagram app settings and see if there's any way to select where files are downloaded to.
