Why can I no longer download my photos to my PC?

I have always done occasional downloads of my pictures to my PC. (I have Windows 10) Suddenly, when I plugged in this time, only some of my pictures will open, and none will download. I can't even copy and paste. Can you help me figure out what has changed?

Do you have MTP enabled?

- Get Google Photos on your phone.

- Get it to automatically upload photos while on wifi.

- Log into photos.google.com via your Windows PC.

- Enjoy!

I use AirDroid for my photo downloads. I have never had a problem.
