Says format to big had s3 before this it did auto for me

Welcome to Android Central! Not all phones will automatically resize photos to be able to send over MMS. It may be that this function was omitted in more recent Samsung phones. Either send the photos individually, or resize them using a photo editor app. Or you could upload the photo to your Google Photos in the cloud, and share the link privately with the recipient.
