why can't change wallpaper in Settings from t white on my Mate 9?

The wallpaper on my Mate 9 home and lock screen is black,but there is no way I can find to change it from that ugly white to some/black as well/ other color

Are you talking about the wallpaper on the homescreen, or the background of the all of the settings menus?

To change wallpaper, you typically have to long-press an empty part of the homescreen, then select the Wallpaper option. You should be able to select from a wide range of static or live wallpapers there.

The settings menu wallpaper cannot be changed on any device. This only changes if the phone supports a theme engine like Samsung, Sony, or LG does with their devices. Other options are using a third party theme engine like substratum, but I find that too much hassle.

thanks,I have suspected it.I have a LG V20 and could do it on that,looks much better.But I thought I have seen one Mate 9,some reviewer on YouTube had it set up like that.
