Why can't I charge my nexus 4?

Ok, so this is my story. I dropped my phone and my touchscreen didn't so I tried to replace the digitizer myself but I cracked my lcd while doing it and so 1 day later, I try to charge it but a red solid light (on the bottom) only appeared and so I unplugged it and replugged it but then no light appeared this time (on the bottom) and nothing showed up on the screen (even though my lcd was broken, I would usually see strange patterns). So now my question is, did I break the battery while trying to remove the digitizer because of the heat gun I used was too hot or is it that phone phone is bricked now

Welcome to the forums. I would guess the motherboard was damaged in the fall or during the repair. Do you have anywhere you can take it to get it checked out?
