Cannot connect my S3 to Wi-Fi

Well, last month I went swimming with my phone in my pocket and later that night I put my phone into a bowl of rice and when I would turn my phone on, it would only stay on for like 30 seconds and it would shut down again, and so last week I put my phone out in the sun for several hours, and the problem with keeping my phone on for more than 30 seconds was fixed, but not the Wi-Fi issue, and I'm searching the web for a solution, hopefully you guys can help me.

Water damage is progressive. Even if you could get the wifi working, internal damage would be ongoing. Check this:
