Why can't I delete my google account off my phone?

I have a LG VS890 4G, and I'm trying to delete a Google account I no longer want to use, and I can't, I can't find out why. I've been searching day and night, help!

Do a factory reset and upon setup input the new google account.

Just deleted mine because things were messing up on my phone because of it.

Do a factory reset and upon setup input the new google account.

That is the best solution that I know of. You'll lose all of your apps of course, including ones you paid for.

Do you really have to do a factory reset to delete it, can't you add another then disable the old one in accounts?
