why I cannot download from Google Play Store (Moto G 2nd Gen)?

I was not able to download any apps to my Moto G 2nd Gen Android phone. I was connected to the internet through wi-fi at home. I got the error message that the connection was not private when I tried to download an app although I was able to browse the webs such as NBC news, CNN, foxnews and so on. I was able to download the same app to my wife's Nokia Window phone connected to the same wi-fi at home. This is the second app I tried to download to my Moto G 2nd Gen phone since I downloaded WhatsApp back in March. I have tried wiping the cache of the phone, disabling and enabling Play Store, reboot my phone to no avail. I also tried the data option to no avail. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! Is your home wi-fi completely unsecured? What happens if you turn on your router security (i.e., set it to WPA2-PSK/AES, and set up a password)?
