Why can't I download pics from my Galaxy S5 phone with Windows 10?

i cant seem to download my pictures from my galaxy 5 using windows 10, i have down loaded the kie ap but the computer does not recognize the phone,..,

That means the drivers aren't installed. Uninstall Kies and use Samsung Smart Switch and install as administrator

I plug my AT&T Samsung Galaxy S5 into my PC and then on the phone, I go to the Notifications tab and make sure my USB computer connection is set to "Connect as a media device". I then go to My Computer and open up the phone and it shows Phone and Card. I click on the one I want and there are DCIM, Pictures, and other directories there where I can access and manipulate my photos directly. Never needed Kies or Smart Switch for this.
