Why can't I get new emoji's?

Can't get the new emojis

I've got a samsung galaxy s4 and I can access the emojis but recently they have added new emojis but I can't get them, my mum has the same phone as me and has the new emojis, I have looked to see if I need to update anything but there isn't anything to update, how do I get the new emojis ?

New emojis are only available if your phone has been updated to Marshmallow or if the app you're using supports 'local' emoji (Whatsapp, for instance, does).
