Why can't I initiate calls from my Gear 2 Neo?

Can't Initiate Calls from Gear 2 Neo

I saw another thread with the exact same question/issue and out of all the suggested fixes the only thing that helped me was turning off the screen lock feature. My gear is paired with the GS5. And there were no posted fixes on how to make calls WHILE the phone is locked using these two devices specifically.

Basically, when I try to initiate a call from my Gear 2 Neo, I get an IMMEDIATE "call ended" message. If my phone has any kind of locking on it, it continues to not initiate calls. But once I disable the lock feature, it works just fine.

I need a fix that is going to still allow me to make calls from my gear while the screen lock enabled. Please help!

I'm not sure that there is a fix for that. I would suggest posting in that thread and see if anyone is able to assist further.

I just tried as I never have used my watch for that. My Note 5 was locked. I called my work phone and it rang fine, then I thought maybe I should try answering it. Since I have a cordless headset, I went into the file room, called my work phone with my Note 5 at my desk, and answered it just fine through my work headset. Even said "hello" a few times to make sure the voice went through to the speaker on my Gear 2 Neo and it did.

I regularly make calls from my Neo. I leave my phone in a location where the connection to the watch is maintained wherever I go in the house and handle all calls using the watch.
