Can't Install OTA Lollipop 5.0.2 update from Kit-Kat 4.4.4

I am currently running Android version 4.4.4 on an unrooted 2012 Google Nexus 7 WiFi tablet. As Lollipop began to be rolled-out, I never received any OTA updates for either Android 5.0 or Android 5.01.

In mid-January, I received my first and only Lollipop OTA update - the Android 5.0.2 System update. I held-off installing it due to the many issues that users were complaining about in this forum. This weekend, I finally clicked on it:

It said: DOWNLOADED AND VERIFIED: 311.2MB

When I click on RESTART & INSTALL button, I got a pop-up message:
REBOOTING TO INSTALL IN 9 – 8 – 7 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 2 – 1

Then another pop-up message: REBOOTING NOW

and then nothing happens - the installation process just stops.

This is my first android device, and I am never attempted to "sideload" anything. Any help or comments would be appreciated. Thanks

If the tab has never been rooted, contact Google (or whoever you bought it from). There's something wrong with it. (And I'd wait for 5.1, at least. 5.0.2 still has the memory leak bug.)
