Android Central Question

So I am using a tablet that runs on android 4.2.2 jelly bean and yesterday my youtube app got deleted on its own. I've been trying to download it from Play Store but whenever the download finishes and installation starts, they show up "insufficient storage" although I have plenty of storage. I installed other apps and all of them were successfully installed but youtube. I even tried downloading latest version of youtube apk but when I click on it, it shows "problem parsing the package" and older versions won't install either. I'd be grateful if you could help me out

Welcome to Android Central! Which tablet? Is it a direct-from-China device that isn't certified for Google Play? YouTube is preinstalled on virtually all devices these days, which means you can't uninstall it. You already looked in your App Drawer for it?

I am using Qtab Q400. It is our country's own device and I really don't know if it's certified from Google or not. Yes it was a bloat ware and I couldn't uninstall it but it got uninstalled itself. I have looked everywhere for it but its not anywhere.

If the device didn't come with the Play Store, then it's not Google Play certified. Did you have to manually install the Play Store app?

Try going to Settings>Apps, tap Menu>System, and see if YouTube is listed as Disabled.

Go to Settings>Apps and see if there is a separate category for Disabled apps.

Also, see what happens if you boot into Safe Mode. On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK.

Wiping the cache will not affect your personal data. Just make sure you don't select Wipe Data instead (unless you're ready to try a factory reset).

I am too facing this same problem. As I have Lenovo tab A 8 50 with Android 5.0
And whenever I tried to update it from its factory version an error code 901 appears which doesn't let the app to update. I tried every possible thing even factory reset. Reply me as soon as you can

Welcome to Android Central! If you're getting an Error Code 901, then it's not the same problem as the OP, who was having an issue with the app disappearing, and getting an Insufficient Storage error when trying to reinstall it.

It'd help to know what you mean by trying every possible thing, so that we don't suggest something you've already tried. In the meantime, go to Settings>Apps, select Google Play Store, tap Storage, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Do the same for Download Manager -- you probably have to tap Menu>Show System to see it. Now try again.
