Why Can't I Open My Dial Pad

Just happened today - I have a nexus 4 and when I open my phone to make a call, I can see my recents/speed dial/contacts and there is a blue circle with white dots at the bottom which normally opens up the dial pad. But I cannot click on it. I see it, and when I touch it, nothing happens. I have rebooted multiple times. Any ideas? I can call contacts, just can't open dial pad to make other calls.

Re: Why Can't I Open My Dial Pad

If you find the Dialer app in Settings, Apps, All, try uninstalling any updates and see if that helps (if it's possible to do). Also you could try resetting app preferences. Good luck.

Welcome to Android Central! You could also try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Phone, and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Otherwise, try a cache partition wipe, which won't erase any personal data: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-5994
