Why can't I send texts unless I turn off Enhanced Messaging?

Why cant I send texts unless I turn off "Enhanced Messaging"?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and messaging worked fine until about a week ago. Now when I send a message it says "Failed". If I long tap the message and send as SMS/MMS it works fine or if I turn off "Enhanced Messaging" it works. How can I get "Enhanced messaging to work again? I'm am on the Vodafone network if that helps.

Is the Galaxy S6 a TMO version or a Vodaphone?

Mine's been doing this for months, and I can't figure it out! It's extremely intermittent, doesn't matter if I'm texting someone else with a s6 or whatever provider they have. I have Sprint.
