Why can't I sign into Google on my brand new Huawei P8 lite?

why cant i sign into google on my brand new huawei p8 lite?

I just got a Huawei p8 lite as a gift. I type in the correct sign in information for google and I cant sign it. I cant even skip signing in either. I can do absolutely nothing on my phone until I sign in
