Why can't I transfer music from my PC to my galaxy s3 when it say everywhere that I can?

I plug my galaxy S3 into my PC and I go to search for the device on my PC and it's not there. I go onto my phone to try to see if it's acknowledged that is connected to my PC and it doesn't do that other than charging through my PC. Please help.

I went to android central and immediately assumed I needed to enter what type of item I was looking to download a driver onto but it was asking for a model number/code and I can't seem to make out what should be there because the sticker that should have the code is faded. I'm also using a Lenovo notebook computer if that helps any. Please help, because I'm extremely tired of looking and I just want to get this over with.

You ought to be able to find the model number of your phone in Settings, About Phone.

Not for my phone. I found out that if my PC isn't recognizing that my galaxy is connected, then I should install a Samsung USB driver, found in the android central app. And I thought the only way to find the driver that I needed and the only way that made sense was to put in my type of PC and model so that it would give me a list of compatible software, particularly that driver. The only problem is that the model code/number on the sticker is faded, and I wasn't able to find it in system information.
