Cannot type letters a and q on my Samsung S6

When using the keypad for text, entering contact details, email, letters a and q do not react to my touch and cannot be entered - not lower or uppercase. Number 1 works as does shift key. Happens whether phone is in or out of its otterbox, Help!

Re: Cannot type letters a and q on my Samsung S6

I bought my Galaxy S6 from Verizon on 12/31/15. All was fine. Maybe 5 days ago I started having trouble pressing app launch icons from the home screen and keys on the keyboard. Got to press really hard or use the majority of your thumbpriregion of your thumb rather than just the tip of thumb. I removed the Otterbox and it worked a lot better, although there was one app (Nest thermostat control) where the circle in the middle frequently did not respond. But the typing was significantly improved. Put the Otterbox back on, and the problem returned.

It doesn't sound 100% like yours, but I'm wondering if my analysis is wrong and if it's a screen or keyboard problem and the Otterbox is just making it a little worse for me. Wasn't sure if I should create a whole new post for this.

^ Yes, every little bit of info is helpful. If it doesn't help the OP, it may help someone else.

Otterbox is sending me a new top part of the case (the screen cover portion). We'll see if that helps my issue. I don't understand what could be wrong with it that isn't visually obvious though.
